Capital Art Tours is owned and operated by Dr. Lisa K. Lipinski. She earned a doctorate in art history from the University of Texas at Austin. She is Assistant Professor of Art History and Program Head of the Arts and Humanities at the Corcoran School of the Arts + Design at The George Washington University. Lipinski is a licensed tour guide in Washington, D.C., and a member of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides. She has given lectures and private tours in Washington, D.C., as well as in art museums in Europe and the United States.
As professor of art history, Lipinski has designed and taught a number of unique, original art history courses for undergraduates and graduate students in a variety of colleges and universities. She brings this knowledge to her art tours as well as her experience working in art museums, such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Phillips Collection, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. Lipinski has written essays for exhibition catalogues, ranging from Baroque painting to French Impressionism, as well as a dissertation on the art of René Magritte. She has cultivated a network of local and national professional art contacts. She regularly collaborates with artists and has curated special exhibitions at The Catholic University of America.
